Extremists

The Obama administration's decision to warn local law enforcement agencies about possible rightwing extremist groups seems curious, and curiously timed, at best. With protests rising over the Democrats' unsustainable profligacy, the warning seems to be a shot across the bow of the conservative movement, seemingly feeding the conspiracy theories of some on the far right. True, there are undoubtedly some unsavory extremists out there across the fruited plain, but they come from all sides, including the left.

And let's not forget that we have al Qaeda elements in our midst. Shouldn't they be the ones we are focusing on?
