Until the Job Is Done

Despite heavy promotion by the mainstream media, this weekend's Iraq war protests largely fizzled. It's not that most people are in favor of keeping U.S. troops there indefinitely; we aren't. But the fact is, we can't leave until the job is done, if we value our civilization and the lives of the people of Iraq. The left is always trotting out Vietnam to describe the difficulties in Iraq, but the lesson of that war is that tyranny must be defeated, however long it takes. We didn't finish the job then, and three decades later one of the last communist governments on earth continues to oppress the people there.
